Hi – I’m Dinuka Liyanawatte – a fourth-generation photographer with a career spanning over 20 years as a photojournalist and freelance photographer.

My great grandfather started one of the first photo studios – Jonathans – in Sri Lanka. My father and uncles continued the family profession, and my first toys were cameras. The influence of my childhood combined with my passion for news photography, sports photography and my keen eye to capture unique images that tell powerful stories enabled me to work for local newspapers followed by a staff photographer position at Reuters news international.

I decided to broaden my global experience and migrated to Adelaide, South Australia in the latter part of 2024 and am excited to contribute my professional skills to companies, organizations and individuals in the Southern Hemisphere.
